The mobile app
The mobile app is for the field: it carries the day-to-day flying and compliance work and keeps working with no signal. Setup, billing and most administration happen on the web.
Signing in
Section titled “Signing in”Sign in with email and password, or Continue with Google / Continue with Apple. You can reset a password, recover a lost second factor, and create an account from the app. A new organization can be set up there too: on the Free plan, or on a paid plan or trial with a promo code that doesn’t need a card. The app can’t take a card, so any other paid plan or trial starts on the web (the plan step has a Continue on the web button). Adding a card happens in the web app, under Settings → Billing, not in the mobile app.
What is on the home screen
Section titled “What is on the home screen”Tiles for Alerts, Schedule, Events, Flight logs, Checklists, Crew, Fleet, Maintenance, Documents, Safety and Compliance. Schedule and Events follow the module switches you set on the web. The same people-restrictions as the web apply: a crew member limited to own assignments only doesn’t see Alerts, Events, Crew, Fleet, Maintenance, Safety or Compliance.
Settings (your profile and name, your own Email / Push / Both choice for alerts, the workspace switcher, the activity log for admins, the Send my DJI logs to AirData switch (paste your AirData Auto Upload Token; needs a connection, because AirData checks the token), and sign-out) and About (the build, and the subscription marker) are reached from the home screen. A flight log that was sent to AirData shows whether it got there.
Web only
Section titled “Web only”The mobile app does not have jobs, clients, quotes, invoices or analytics; importing flights; the terrain-based estimate of height above ground on a flight log; the custom domain, calendar feeds, weather minima and most other Settings sections; certification updates; or leaving a workspace. Use the web app for these. Pending invitations can be accepted from the app (offered once per session, or under Settings → Workspace).
Offline
Section titled “Offline”Work in the app is saved on the device first and sent when a connection returns. Unsynced work lists what is waiting. If a change can’t be applied because someone else changed the same record, it waits there with both versions shown; see the FAQ for the cases. Signing out deletes changes that haven’t sent yet; the app tells you how many first.
If Tobren doesn’t accept the device’s sign-in, sending pauses and Unsynced work says so. Usually it resumes by itself when the sign-in refreshes, or when you pull down to try again; you don’t need to sign out. If Tobren has ended the device’s sign-in — by Sign out everywhere, after a long time without use, or because the account is signed in on too many devices — or your workspace starts requiring two-factor authentication, the changes can’t be sent until you sign in again, and the app says so. Signing out is how you get back in, and in this case it keeps your unsent changes on the phone: sign back in with the same account to the same workspace and they send. If a different account signs in, or you open a different workspace, they are deleted first, so nobody else’s sign-in ever sends them. Only the workspace you were in is kept; if you also have unsent changes in another workspace, the sign-out warning names it and says those are deleted.
If you are removed from a workspace, leave it, or it is deleted, the app deletes that workspace’s data from the phone the next time it checks in, including changes that hadn’t sent yet (Tobren would refuse them). A notice names the workspace and how many changes were removed, so you can re-enter anything you still need once you’re added back. A suspended workspace or a deactivated membership keeps its data on the phone, because either can be undone.
When you sign back in with unsent changes still on the phone, the app first checks which workspaces you can still use. If that check can’t finish (usually a poor connection), the app says This workspace can’t open yet and keeps your changes on the phone. Tap Try again in a moment, or restart the app. There is deliberately no sign-out on that screen, because signing out deletes unsent changes. If the app can’t read its own record of removed changes, it says Couldn’t check for removed changes and offers Check again.
Push notifications
Section titled “Push notifications”Push alerts reach owners and admins; each person picks Email only, Push only or Both in the app’s Settings. See Alerts.
Subscription states
Section titled “Subscription states”The trial and payment reminders appear in the app on each foreground, with the same countdown as the web, and the About screen carries the marker. A suspended workspace shows a read-only screen: you can view everything, nothing new can be saved.
